“What are the medical requirements for a Class 2 medical certificate?”
A PPL requires a Class 2 medical certificate pursuant to FCL.015 and MED.A.030.

Initial examination by an AeMC or AME. Validity: 60 months under 40 years of age, thereafter 24 months.

Key checks: visual acuity (correctable to 6/9), blood pressure (<167/100 mmHg). See AMC1 MED.B.070 for discipline-specific standards.

FCL.015 Medical certificates
(a) Applicants for a licence shall, unless otherwise provided in this Annex, hold a valid medical certificate issued in accordance with Annex IV (Part-MED).
(a)(2) Holders of a PPL, LAPL or glider/balloon licence shall hold at least a Class 2 medical certificate as described in MED.A.030.
(b) The medical certificate shall be drawn up in English and at least in the language of the Member State that issued it.
